Very home style atmosphere. Service was very friendly and relaxed. The interior setup isn't fancy and has a homestyle feel to it which I like. Food was really good overall except the BBQ eel had a rubbery texture. I know eel can be very complicated to prepare but I guess that's something I can avoid and still enjoy this place.

Delicious and cheap. Their rolls are large but cheaper than other places. They definitely don't shy away from stuffing their rolls well. We tried their Golden Dragon roll and we were kind of on the fence about its price since it was around 16$ but it definitely was worth it. It was such a large roll. It must have been 2 and half of their smaller rolls. Their Salmon Bakudan is really good. Normally tempura crumbs will be rolled inside with the salmon, but here it's very generously piled on top. It was one of the best bakudans I've ever had. We also tried their Yam Tempura Roll. It was delicious. Lots of yam unlike other places where you barely see the yam. We ordered their Dynamite Roll and Spider Roll (Soft-shell crab) and we only ordered half sizes of each for much cheaper but because they are larger rolls, you still get a decent portion. They were both so well made. for the two of us... we didn't order other things but the rolls. It was 50$ WITH tax and WITH tip. For the portions you get that is very reasonable. The quality of their rolls is added bonus too. We will for sure be back. We want to try this roll they were advertising for 16.99$ and it comes with a fire show. They light the roll on fire.

It was the first time ordering and having Sushi for me. As a Middle-Eastern, I am usually used to too much using spices, maybe that's why I am expecting more deliciousness for this food. However, I must sya that for my first time, your Sushi was great and very nicely served and decorated. I have no idea about the tastes of Sushis, if there are more delicious ones with more spices or greater taste, please let me know. But great job for your nice food and I will recommend your Sushi to my friends.

Located on 160 St Anne's Road in Winnipeg, Sato Sushi offers a welcoming, homestyle atmosphere that feels refreshingly genuine in today’s dining scene. This unpretentious spot is where authentic Japanese flavors meet generous portions and thoughtful preparation, creating an inviting experience for both sushi novices and seasoned enthusiasts alike.

Their sushi rolls stand out not only for their size but also for their value. Large, well-stuffed rolls like the Golden Dragon and Salmon Bakudan showcase Sato Sushi’s commitment to quality and quantity. The Golden Dragon roll, despite its seemingly high price, delivers an impressive portion—roughly two and a half times the size of their smaller rolls—making it well worth every cent. Meanwhile, the Salmon Bakudan delights with a generous crown of tempura crumbs atop fresh salmon, a creative twist that elevates this classic roll to one of the best bakudans around.

Their yam tempura roll is another highlight, boasting ample yam that bursts with flavor rather than the mere hint found elsewhere. Diners can also enjoy expertly crafted Dynamite and Spider Rolls, with the latter featuring succulent soft-shell crab. Opting for half sizes still provides satisfying portions, ideal for sharing or sampling multiple dishes without overwhelming your palate or budget.

While most dishes earn high praise for freshness and authentic taste, the BBQ eel presents a learning curve—a texture described as rubbery by some. Yet, this minor flaw doesn’t overshadow the overall positive dining experience.

Sato Sushi's friendly service adds warmth to the meal, fitting perfectly with their relaxed, homey vibe. The owners’ approachable nature creates a sense of welcome that enhances the dining experience beyond the food.

For adventurous diners, the restaurant features a unique signature roll complete with a fiery presentation, blending entertainment with exceptional cuisine. This fusion of flavor, value, and atmosphere positions Sato Sushi as a compelling hidden gem in Winnipeg’s sushi landscape—one that invites return visits to discover more of its delicious offerings.
